"Although autocratic and laissez-faire managing are different styles, both de-motivate the overwhelming majority of workers, and both place severe obstacles in the way of getting their jobs done. The research in this area strongly suggests a third approach, which is participative. Participative leadership is an active style that stimulates involvement ,not a passive style that forfeits leadership. In an effective participative organization, no one doubts who is in charge. But that person expects employees to think, to exercise judgment, and not just do. Judgment is expected from workers in performing their specific tasks and in identifying and implementing ways to improve the organization’s performance as a whole."

I'm an honest, sincere, nice guy, with a sense of humor and a passion for creating extraordinary teams of people who love learning how to achieve in business and in life.
My goals in the "Sales and Service Game" are to have fun, play fair, and be in it to win it. To win the World Series or Super Bowl of Sales and Service by providing customers and employees with an exciting experience second to none.
After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University, my team leadership career began with the JC Penney Company. I was with the company during its glory years when, trailing Sears, it was the second largest retailer in the world.
My JC Penney management training and work experience has been the foundation for a leadership career focused on daily engaging everyone in a unique sales and service "team building" game focused on creating entire teams of achievers who love helping each other learn, improve, achieve, win, and have fun.
After three highly-successful years with the JC Penney Company I traded in my suit, tie, and corporate ambitions for cowboy boots, jeans, and having fun leading a twenty-five person sales staff marketing private camp sites. I loved the camaraderie, selling a great product that people loved, and coaching my team daily on how to improve their sales, service, and life skills.
By combining my J.C. Penney experience with my passion for team sports, I learned how to create, inspire, lead, and retain entire teams of top quality sales and service achievers who, rather than competing with each other, did their part in helping their teammates improve themselves, the sales team, and the company.
A team-centered, learning-driven, achievement-focused system that keeps it simple and makes it fun (an exciting game) and makes it everyone as it focuses on everyone understanding their importance to the mission in their actions and their answers to the question "What would the best of the best do in this situation?"
Employee engagement has become the "holy grail" of the new century because if you engage your employees daily, they will be "in for a penny and in for a pound" as they show you how to grow your business and your people.

Keep it simple, make it fun, make it everyone, make it the "Best of the Best"...
Unlike most sales and service management trainers, I have led several extraordinarily successful high-performance sales and customer service teams. My approach to building a great team is to get everyone to buy into having fun, helping create an entire team of top quality achievers. To participate in developing an entire team of top achievers focused on surpassing all company expectations in creating team pride, team passion, and team performance.
- "Best of the Best" Pride, Passion, Performance, Productivity, Participation = Profit
- Front-line employees make the impression and creates the memory.
- Team leadership makes the difference.
- Corporate support makes it happen.
- Employees support, often with passion, what they help create.
- Employees who feel important produce important results.
- Every day is game day, so be in it to win it!
